Authorized Operators Only

  • Only trained and authorized personnel may operate the forklift.
  • Operate equipment within the scope of authorization.
  • Prevent unauthorized use.
02MANDATORY

Inspect Before Use

  • Complete the pre-shift forklift inspection.
  • Check brakes, steering, horn, tyres and forks.
  • Remove unsafe equipment from service.
03MANDATORY

Respect Rated Capacity

  • Check the capacity plate.
  • Consider load centre and attachment effects.
  • Do not carry overloaded or unstable loads.
04MANDATORY

Keep the Load Stable

  • Centre the load on the forks.
  • Keep the load as low as practicable while travelling.
  • Secure loose materials.
05MANDATORY

Separate Pedestrians

  • Respect pedestrian routes.
  • Use the horn at blind spots and doorways.
  • Never allow people beneath elevated loads.
06MANDATORY

Maintain Visibility

  • Travel in a safe direction or use a spotter when the load blocks visibility.
  • Slow down at intersections.
  • Adjust speed to site conditions.
07MANDATORY

Control Travel on Slopes

  • Do not make sudden turns on ramps.
  • Keep the load oriented safely on grades.
  • Reduce speed on slippery or damaged surfaces.
08MANDATORY

Park Safely

  • Fully lower the forks.
  • Neutralize controls and apply the parking brake.
  • Control the key against unauthorized operation.
