Overview
Commissioning chemical cleaning removes construction residues and deposits but can introduce chemical burns, reaction gases, overpressure and harmful effluent. The cleaning chemistry, concentration, system compatibility, circulation temperature and waste treatment must come from approved engineering and chemical-supplier instructions. Before transfer or circulation, verify positive isolation, material compatibility, containment, pump and hose integrity, eyewash access and disposal route. The safety team must establish who controls emergency shutdown, gas monitoring and spill response. Never mix unknown residues or assume a drain is authorized to receive spent cleaning fluid.
Stop-work / abnormal conditions
Stop circulation for unexpected temperature rise, pressure change, gas alarm, leak, skin exposure or unidentified discharge. Isolate as designed, evacuate affected persons, use the SDS emergency actions and notify the site's competent environmental and operations team.
